Adult Ministry

At Christ Lutheran we know that all who believe in Jesus Christ are called to follow Jesus and learn from Him.

Just as Jesus spent time in prayer, study of Scripture, and learning obedience to the Father (testing) we seek to develop that pattern in our own lives and the lives of others.

Sunday Morning Adult Study

9:30am, the Commons – Bible Insights – The Old Testament

The Bible, reading it makes a difference in daily life because through it we learn life-changing truths about ourselves and about our God.

The class will give you background on each book, its author and how it relates to God’s amazing plan of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ as well as how it fits chronologically with the rest of the Bible. The Bible Reading Guide will lead you through the Bible in about two years. The guide gives you five readings per week plus a weekly devotional that highlights the practical importance of Scripture. The Bible Reading Guide will lead you through the incomparable source of clarity and understanding we have in this world – God’s Word. Pick up your copy of the Bible Reading Guide during class on Sunday mornings, at the Together Point desk or from the church office.

ChristConnect

Classes are offered several times during the year.

Orientation (2 weeks) – next session begins February 26th
Two- one-hour classes intended for those interested in membership as well as those seeking more information about who we are. The first session offers a general overview of Christ Lutheran Church and who we are as a faith family. The second session addresses connecting with the Body of Christ, both inside and outside of these walls. This class is offered during the Education Hour on Sunday mornings several times per year.

Starting Point (3 hours) – next session is March 25th
This class is a small group experience that weaves together our Christian faith, Lutheran teaching and what that means for your life with God and his people, now and for eternity. This class is for those who are exploring the Christian faith for the first time and for those reviewing the roots of their Christian faith, particularly those wanting a fuller understanding of the Lutheran perspective.

The Journey Begins (5 weeks) – next session begins February 5th
This is a faith-development Bible study group.  The verses and questions guide each group member on the path of becoming more like Christ in all aspects of their life and challenges them to become servant leaders to those around them at home, at work, at church, in the community and the world.

The ChristConnect team is here to help as you follow Jesus and live out your call to be “Together in Christ that others may know Christ”. If your journey includes membership at Christ, we would be happy to help you on that path, please contact Cris Molina at  or  913-754-5844 to learn more about the next ChristConnect Orientation.

Dinner Together

Wondering just where you fit in? We can help. Dinner Together is a great way to get to know members of your faith family on a more personal level. Share a meal with 8 – 10 people in someone’s home. Guests bring an assigned portion of the meal – main dish, salad, vegetable or dessert. The host provides table settings, drinks, bread and a light appetizer. Just in case you were wondering, you don’t need to host a dinner to participate.  New seasons of Dinner Together begin in September and January.
