School Supply & Food Drive
Please begin praying about how you will participate in the 2017 School Supply & Food Drive…
Beginning July 1st – Bring your own donations of school supplies or food and put them in the REACH barrel in the lobby. See list of suggested school supply and food items below or print this list.
Weekend of July 22nd/23rd – Grab a bag of invitations and distribute them to a small group of homes in our neighborhoods
July 29th, 11am – Collect items our neighbors left out for us
July 30th, 9:30am – Sort/Count/Label donated items
July 31st, August 1st – 3rd – Deliver food or school supplies to our mission partners
Suggested list of essential school supplies:
Backpacks – all grades Highlighters
3-ring binders – 1 inch Index cards
5-tab dividers Markers – wide
Colored pencils Notebook paper – wide-ruled only
Crayons Pencil cases
Dividers Pens – black, blue, red
Dry erase markers Scissors
Ear buds Spiral notebooks
Erasers Two-pocket folders – with/w/out fasteners
Glue sticks Wooden pencils
Suggested list of food needs:
Boxed meals Macaroni & cheese
Canned fruit Paper towels
Canned meat Pasta – 2 lb pkgs or smaller
Canned vegetables Pasta sauce
Cereal – hot and cold Peanut butter & jelly
Cleaning supplies Personal hygiene items
Crackers Rice – 2 lb bags or smaller
Dry beans – 2 lb bags or smaller Soup
Dish detergent Sugar
Flour Toilet paper

Blessings Abound needs volunteers to help move furniture. Furniture moving equipment is used; safety 1st! Flexible schedule, no regular commitment. Contact Tony Whitter or the store for more information.
City Union Mission is in need of people to assist with stocking and distributing goods from their Community Assistance Store. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, click here to complete a volunteer application.
New Hope Food Pantry is looking for help packing up donations or assisting the clients as they shop for food. Contact New Hope for more information at (913) 782-0955.
TurnStyles is seeking volunteers interested in working as Cashiers, Greeters or Merchandisers at their store in Overland Park.
